False heart of mine
Why do you seek
Forbidden ways and death?
Would you betray
Your mistress to
The ways that lead to death?
False mind of mine
Who lets thoughts in
To terrify with death
Why do you open
Up the gate
To lies, deceit and death?
False eyes of mine
That gaze upon
Those travelling down to death?
And envy each
The very stone
That drags them to their death.
False ears of mine
Why do you heed
The subtle calls of death?
And bend to hear
The empty laugh
That turns to “hush” with death
False tears of mine
Who do you fall
When all I lose is death?
There’s no regret
When life is given
And I am saved from death.
